Description

School Based Mentoring is mentoring program where volunteers meet with a child at a local elementary or middle school. The children are kids who need extra help academically, socially or just need a positive role model.

 

Specifics

You would go once a week for 30-60 minutes and meet with a student outside of class. Matches meet either during or after school. You would spend time one-to-one with your mentee playing games, doing homework, or just talking. Volunteers must be high school age or older. This program is available in the Des Moines, Indianola, Newton, and Ottumwa areas.
